Retirement Quotes, Sayings about retiring
Ah, retirement! These are supposed to be the golden years of life, the time when a man or woman enjoys the days and nights without a schedule and without worry. Retirement is supposed to be a time for enjoying life, enjoying grandchildren, traveling to see places we haven’t seen. Many people are finding that this isn’t exactly how their retirement years are working out. Some are fortunate to have planned carefully and have seen their plans come to fruition. When we face these latter years and find we have time to do the things we always wanted to do, we need to face them with a sense of humor and with a sense of resignation.
Some perceptive men and women have helped us get a handle on retirement with words that put the idea in perspective. For example, how ironic it is that we retire and don’t have to worry about time, yet the company presents us with a watch as a parting gift. How strange it is that we have so much time and, in many cases, so much less money to spend in that extra time. How wonderful it is that we can spend our time doing nothing and we don’t have to worry about getting caught!
